The Electrical Board Foundation was formed in 1991 to provide the Industry Scholarship Awards to EBMI members and their immediate families.

This program is funded through many different programs. The Jackpot Sales and other contests at GOLFfest, Sportsman’s Holiday and Christmas Mixer all help to support this Foundation.

There are other ways in which to contribute. Many of our members contribute to the Foundation when they pay their dues and we sincerely appreciate these donations. You can deduct the contribution to the Foundation from your taxes. No matter how small or large the donation, all the monies contribute to the goal of helping our members’ families receive scholarships to further their education.

At the suggestion of members, we also receive donations in memory/honor of a loved one. Many times, people have been very active in the electrical industry and/or EBMI. What a wonderful way to remember/honor them by donating to the Scholarship Foundation. EBMI has envelopes available upon request. In addition, EBMI sends a letter to the appropriate person to recognize such donations. EBMI sends letters to anyone contributing to the Foundation to recognize their donations and try to include donors in our FLASH newsletter as well.

*Several organizations, companies and individuals have also provided scholarships. We thank these people for their generous support of our Foundation each year. If they contribute for Bronze, Silver or Gold levels, the donor is given recognition by EBMI at our Awards Luncheon and in the FLASH.

In 2021, the EBMI Foundation Board of Directors, consisting of EBMI and WEB members, changed the scholarship donor classifications.
The new donor levels are:
$1-$249 -Friends of EBMI Foundation
$250-$999 -Bronze Level
$1000-$1499 -Silver Level
over $1500 -Gold Level

We appreciate ALL donations (small and large) that help support the EBMI Foundation each year. Special recognition is given to the following Bronze, Silver or Gold Level scholarship donors. When the program started, we awarded 5 – $500 scholarships but through the generosity of our members and their families, we have been able to increase the value and number of the scholarships. Since 2022, we began awarding $1,500 scholarships.
